C. Michael White, Pharm.D., FCP, FCCP
Dr. White is an associate professor of pharmacy, director of cardiac pharmacology service, and director of the Evidence-based Practice Center at the University of Connecticut/Hartford Hospital. He is also an accomplished researcher and prolific writer with 230 manuscripts in journals. Dr. White’s research focuses on evidence-based practice, systematic review, and reducing drug-, herb-, and implantable device-induced diseases. The American College of Clinical Pharmacy approved his fellowship training program and awarded him the American College of Clinical Pharmacy Young Investigator Award. Dr. White has been awarded the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Foundation Drug Therapy Research Award five times since 2000. The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy gave him the Lyman Award in 2007, and the ACP Journal Club, published by the American College of Physicians, has reviewed his articles. He has authored 15 book chapters, including chapters on arrhythmias for Applied Therapeutics and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists Geriatric Certification Program and chapters on drug-induced cardiac diseases and hypercholesterolemia for the PSAP Cardiac Module. Dr. White is a University of Connecticut Teaching Fellow and Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacists and American College of Clinical Pharmacologists. He obtained his bachelor’s and doctorate degrees from the Albany College of Pharmacy in Albany, NY, and completed cardiovascular pharmacology Fellowship training at Hartford Hospital.
