Outline of Material
The material in this presentation covers the results and conclusions from a systematic review entitled, Chronic Kidney Disease Stages 1–3: Screening, Monitoring, and Treatment. It will consist of an overview of the comparative effectiveness review process used by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ); an overview of chronic kidney disease stages 1–3 and the available treatment options; clinically important questions the review sought to answer and the results; a summary of the conclusions regarding the effectiveness and harms of screening, monitoring, and treatment; gaps in knowledge; and what physicians should discuss with their patients.
