Adverse Effects of Antipsychotics In Children

Adverse events were examined across all indications in total: adverse events are not expected to be dependent on diagnosis. Several adverse events of interest had no data reported. The analysis focused on key adverse event categories reported in at least one study:

  • Weight and body composition
  • Blood lipids
  • Blood glucose, insulin, and diabetes
  • Neuromotor effects (e.g., extrapyramidal symptoms, akathisia, tardive dyskinesia)
  • Prolactin and related sexual adverse effects
  • Sedative effects
