Describe why this topic is important.

This topic is important because induction of labor has merit as a therapeutic option when the benefits of expeditious delivery outweigh the risks of continuing the pregnancy. There are a variety of ways to manage induction of labor and a variety of complications that need to be considered in a systematic review to be able to provide clinicians with the tools to weigh the benefits and harms of each method.

How will an answer to your research question be used or help inform decisions for you or your group?

Clinicians will be more equipped to make appropriate management decisions for women seeking induced labor based on the needs of the individual patient resources and limitations unique to the institution or type of practice. Recommendations based on the systematic review will be used by clinicians to optimize the success of induction of labor.
