For the surgical treatment of clavicle fracture what are the comparative risks and benefits between available interventions Are these risks and benefits different for pediatric versus adult populations

Describe why this topic is important.

The AAOS Committee on Evidence Based Quality and Value felt that clavicle fracture is an important topic due to the incidence and prevalence as well as the variation in care. Clavicle fracture treatment affects multiple specialties including both pediatric and adult orthopaedic surgery family practice sports medicine and trauma.

How will an answer to your research question be used or help inform decisions for you or your group?

An answer to this research question would reduce variability of care for this widespread condition. Standardizing care provides the opportunity to provide benchmarking standards and improve patient quality of care.
