Implement HACCP Program in US Medicare Facilities.HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) was developed in the 1960's to make sure the Foods consumed in Space Travel were Safe to Consume. Today, it is widely used in the US Food Industry to reduce Food Borne Illnesses from Foods Prepared by the Food Industry.

Implementing HACCP in the US Medical Care Industry is needed to minimize the risk of Patients catching in-house Medical Illnesses (HAI) According to 2011 Center for Disease Control(CDC) Report The following number of Medical Illnesses were caught in Hospital by Patients: Pneumonia 157,500

Gastrointestinal Illness 123,000 Urinary Tract Infections 93,300

Primary Blood Stream Infections 71,900 Surgical Site Infections 157,500 Other Types of Infections 118,500 Acccording to Epidemiology Control and Procedures, in 2015 it is estimated that as many as 119,000 patients died from MRSA(Methicillin Resistant Staphloccus Aureus) Once HACCP is implemented with Sanitation Checklist and a HAI occurs, an In-House Investigation is performed. The HACCP Plan and/or Sanitation Checklist and/or Procedure(s) may have to be changed. With HACCP implementation, One HAI is One To Many.

How will an answer to your research question be used or help inform decisions for you or your group?

If this Suggestion is Approved, The Implementation of HACCP will dramatically reduce the HAI in the United States. More patients died last year from MRSA caught in Hospitals than US Servicemen killed in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. As a Food Safety and Compliance Officer for the SC Department of Agriculture, I was involved in the Startup, Implementation and Regulation of HACCP Programs in the Food Industry. I can state, HACCP

achieved its Goal; It Works.

For HACCP to be implemented in the Medical Care Industry, There will need to be Writing of HACCP Plans and Sanitation Checklists for each Medical Care Facility and training of Medical Care Associates. This should be easier and less costly since it has already been done for the Food Industry. The US FDA which also Regulates the Medical Care Industry has already done this for the Food Industry.

I am not making this suggestion on behalf of any organization. I am concerned that escalating Health Care Costs will bankrupt our Nation. I hope I can prevent this from occurring.
Please tell us how you heard about the Effective Health Care Program
For the last six(6) months I have been doing research on how to reduce the cost of Health Care. I have already nominated Oxygen Therapy for the same reason.
