In pediatric patients with encountered by emergency medical services, what interventions are associated with improved outcomes?

2. Why are you struggling with this issue?

A previous gap analysis by the Prehospital Guidelines Consortium identified prehospital pediatric emergencies as one of the top 3 clinical areas in need of evidence evaluation and guideline development to improve prehospital care.

AHRQ has previously led the performance of evidence evaluations that have led to the creation of prehospital guidelines funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This topic (prehospital pediatric emergencies) is an area of need for future guideline development).

5. What will you do with the evidence report?

The evidence report could serve as the basis for creation of a prehospital guideline related to prehospital pediatric emergencies, as was previously successfully accomplished for prehospital airway management and prehospital pain management.
