In a pandemic, such as we are currently experiencing with COVID-19, the need for medical resources, including personnel and equipment, quickly outstrips the available supply. We aim to update the existing evidence of the effectiveness of three types of masks (respirators, e.g.N95; surgical face masks, and cloth face masks) in community and health care settings during a respiratory pandemic, such as COVID-19. We plan to update this review frequently, so that it will be a living review.
