EKGs for Acute Chest Pain

NOMINATED TOPIC | October 17, 2019

EKGs for Acute Chest Pain

Topic Suggestion

1. What is the decision or change you are facing or struggling with where a summary of the evidence would be helpful?

We are interested in the research on the usefulness of old EKGs in the treatment of acute chest pain.

2. Why are you struggling with this issue?

There are multiple references dating back for many years on comparison EKGs when evaluating a patient with acute chest pain but very little actual research data.  Share would be nice to include the data when teaching medical care givers for the future.

3. What do you want to see changed? How will you know that your issue is improving or has been addressed?

I think a white paper on the topic would be great.  If there is no real scientific proof that old EKGs are helpful then we should get started on the studies for clarity.

4. When do you need the evidence report?

Sun, 03/15/2020

5. What will you do with the evidence report?

I would be willing to champion the topic and get the evidence or lack there of out to the health care community.
