Briefly describe a specific question, or set of related questions, about a health care test or treatment that this program should consider.

HPV (Human P. Virus)

Does your question include a comparison of different health care approaches? (If no, your topic will still be considered.)

yes

If yes, explain the specific technologies, devices, drugs, or interventions you would like to see compared:

Genotyping of tissue vs. only pap; hplc/ria/other immunoassays vs. regular genotyping

What patients or group(s) of patients does your question apply to? (Please include specific details such as age range, gender, coexisting diagnoses, and indications for therapy.)

/16 years of age

Are there subgroups of patients that your question might apply to? (For example, an ethnic group, stage or severity of a disease.)

  1. Mortality 2) All-cause mortality 3) Morbidity 4) Time loss from work 5) Personal time

  2. Willingness to pay questions (see pertussis booster vaccine as examples, Lieu et al are authors) 7) Incidence of head and neck cancer 8) NNH, NNT

  3. Mental health outcomes including suicide, depression, anxiety, as examples

Describe any health-related risks, side effects, or harms that you are concerned about.

Particularly the adverse effects of no vaccination

Appropriateness for EHC Program

Importance

Describe why this topic is important.

I have friends in their 20's - 50s dying of head and neck cancer because their partners (female) unknowingly did not inform their partners and averaged 10 partners/month (innercourse only)

What specifically motivated you to ask this question? (For example, you are developing a clinical guideline, working with a policy with large uncertainty about the appropriate approach, costly intervention, new research you have read, items in the media you may have seen, a clinical practice dilemma you know of, etc.)

Need guidelines, interested in insurance paying for all ages, not just > late 20s

Does your question represent uncertainty for clinicians and/or policy-makers? (For example, variations in clinical care, controversy in what constitutes appropriate clinical care, or a policy decision.)

yes

If yes, please explain:

Public unsure of vaccination, concerns in causes cancer and causes increase in sexual activity in vaccinated

Potential Impact

How will an answer to your research question be used or help inform decisions for you or your group?

I can help my friends

Describe the timeframe in which an answer to your question is needed.

Within 1.5 years

Describe any health disparities, inequities, or impact on vulnerable populations your question applies to.

Higher in low-income and minority populations
