Patient Access to Radiology Records

1. What is the decision or change (e.g. clinical topic, practice guideline, system design, delivery of care) you are facing or struggling with where a summary of the evidence would be helpful?

Patients do not have easy access to their radiological records. They come on a CD disc when patients do receive them. Today many computers if not most do not even have a disc drive. When radiologic reports are needed to be provided when seeing another clinician this is really a problem.

2. Why are you struggling with this issue?

Every patient I know that has attempted to or has acquired their radiological records has this problem.

3. What do you want to see changed? How will you know that your issue is improving or has been addressed?

Access to radiological records on something other than CD disc. Easier transference of the actual radiological record for second analysis or for treatment by another clinician.

4. When do you need the evidence report?

Mon, 05/08/2023

5. What will you do with the evidence report?

To share with many other patient partners where they could then share with their clinicians and other need to know individuals.
