Pulse Field Ablation for atrial fib, or oncologic procedures are a new technology coming to the United States. There is much excitement from physicians, but it is so new whether it is paid for and efficacious has not been significantly published for appropriate use.

2. Why are you struggling with this issue?

Insufficient evidence for best practice. Speaking with physician we need to communicate trends and national recommendations with federal register update. How effective will this technology be for replacing cryoablation technologies? Medtronic and Boston scientific have their launch of technology and it is priced double of other ablation systems, Biosense Webster will be coming out with their new device soon.

3. What do you want to see changed? How will you know that your issue is improving or has been addressed?

Value based care and HHS aligning and controlling price gouging of new technologies to be affordable and truly efficacious. Hospitals need to be able to hold vendors accountable for reimbursement for denials so patients don't get surprise billing and hospital margins don't continue to shrink - while vendors have no risk.

I lead value analysis for an IDN system in UT, CO, NV and ID. I plan to present information to our practice committees to make an informed decision. Negotiate better pricing if able for affordable healthcare.
