- Those over the age of 80 with hyperlipidemia ofen have co morbid conditions and are more likely to suffer adverse reactions to medications. They also tend to take more medications with the risk of drug-drug interactions. The benefit derived from medical treatment of hyperlipidemia in this age group should be assess relative to these potential harms.
